Shakespeare’s Globe: The Globe season runs from April to October, and this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. The season opens on 22 April with Romeo and Juliet, followed by the return of Jessica Swale’s Nell Gwynn in a co-production with English Touring Theatre. The season continues with Emma Rice’s Twelfth Night, and a short run of Kneehigh’s acclaimed Tristan & Yseult. Next in the season is Much Ado About Nothing, set in the Mexican revolution of 1910 and King Lear directed by Nancy Meckler. The season concludes with the world premiere of Tristan Bernays’ Boudica.

The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse: The candlelit Jacobean theatre at Shakespeare's Globe opened in January 2014. The Playhouse hosts concerts and other events throughout the summer season. Its main indoor theatre season runs from October to April.

Globe Education: One of the largest arts education departments in the UK; each year, over 100,000 people of all ages and nationalities participate in its public events, workshops and courses. Globe Education also runs extensive outreach programmes for students and teachers in the Southwark community, nationally and internationally.

Globe Exhibition & Tour: Open to the public all year round, the Globe Exhibition and Tour explores the life of Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote.

Globe On Tour: The Globe’s productions tour extensively in the UK and internationally. Tours in the 2016 season included: The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk and The Merchant of Venice.

Globe Player: A brand new online platform offering full-length HD films of over 50 Shakespeare productions at the Globe to rent or buy.

Globe On Screen: Shakespeare's Globe on Screen returns to cinemas in 2016, bringing highlights from the 2015 theatre season to cinemas worldwide. Globe on Screen 2016 featured The Merchant of Venice, Richard II and Measure for Measure, all captured in 'live' high definition.

Plan B unveiled his video for new track In the Name of Man last week, and is due to release his long-awaited fourth studio album later this year. His performance marks the latest in a series of unique gigs at the Globe which saw Mercury Prize nominee Róisín Murphy perform live on stage in 2016.

Shakespeare’s Globe will continue to welcome genre-defining artists this summer, with BRIT and Ivor Novello Award winner Plan B and Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Nitin Sawhney both set to appear in the open-air theatre in July and August respectively.

A maverick figure in the world of music, Ben Drew’s incendiary debut album, Who Needs Actions When You Got Words broke new ground for UK hip hop in 2006. His sophomore album The Defamation Of Strickland Banks married soul and hip hop with great success, selling over 1.4 million copies in the UK.

His 2012 directorial debut (and accompanying album) iLLManors boldly addressed socio-political issues with his often brutal cultural commentary, seeing Ben nominated for his fifth BRIT Award, and once again hitting #1 in the UK album chart.

Nitin Sawhney is one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices around today. Firmly established as an album artist and world-class producer, songwriter, DJ, multi-instrumentalist, orchestral composer and cultural pioneer, Sawhney first came to prominence in the 90s as leader of the ‘Asian Underground’ scene. Since then he has gained critical acclaim across 10 solo albums and has become a latter-day Renaissance man in the worlds of music, film, gaming, dance and theatre. His prolific film score work has now led him to compose for the latest Jungle Book Hollywood blockbuster from Warner Bros.
